    Cultural Centre "Rojas"

Since it was founded, in 1984, The Cultural Centre "Rojas" (C.C.R) of the University of Buenos Aires has been consolidated as an innovative space for artistic and cultural creation in the City and as an institution aimed at artistic education.

It could be said that the CCR regained its central role in the Argentinean cultural sphere due to many reasons. In the first place, the C.C.R. has shown its privileged bond with the University of Buenos Aires , which, at the same time, shows the great importance that the present management of the UBA assigns to culture.

Regarding internal matters, there has been a renewal in the coordination of artistic areas resulting in an infusion of enthusiasm and the creation of new projects. Likewise, the Centre has been trying to establish a connection among those compartments which used to work independently, achieving in this way a productive network and a better articulation among the different pedagogic, artistic and cultural areas.

The CCR offers a wide variety of courses ranging from the traditional cultural courses, Job Training and Courses for adults over 50, to courses in new areas such as Science and Communication.

It is of importance to mention that the C.C. Rojas has different publications which are aimed at the reflection of the activities carried out in the centre. "La Hoja del Rojas" (a monthly magazine that goes into the activities that take place at the Cultural Centre), the website (www.rojas.uba.ar), and the periodic publications concerning the pedagogical area contribute to the binding of the centre with the University and the community in general.
