Extension Programs and Projects

The bonds that the UBA holds with the community are inherent to its main mission - training professionals is a long-term commitment with the society, as well as carrying out research in order to improve the human and social life quality.

Nevertheless, among the three main cornerstones of our University - teaching, research and extension- the University Statute assigns to the extension department the role of creating a sphere to establish a direct relationship with different areas and social entities, and a nexus between teaching and research.

In Argentina's complex social and economic environment, the academic community offers - through the university extension department- integral support to the creation of new social practices in an interdisciplinary job that gets enriched with the specificity of knowledge that each academic area contributes.

It is, therefore, fundamental to foster the projects of university extension department that involve the joint work of teachers and students in concrete real situations. These projects embrace a wide range of problems: those connected to health, education, environment, children's and adolescents' rights, social vulnerability, and crime and violence, among others.

The extension department's main objective is to produce changes in society so as to contribute effectively to a better quality of life.
