Programa Interdisciplinario de la Universidad de Buenos Aires sobre Cambio Climático - Interdisciplinary Program of the University of Buenos Aires on Climate Change
The Interdisciplinary Program of the University of Buenos Aires on Climate Change (PIUBACC for its acronym in Spanish) seeks to contribute to the elaboration of a strategic vision of Argentina in relation to the changes to be faced in the coming decades. It also seeks to participate in strengthening the position of Argentina in the international negotiation on climate change (CC) and related aspects. Besides, this Program aims to promote the development of knowledge on CC in the region and its causes; to analyze the consequences of CC in the diverse dimensions of social life and to elaborate the corresponding proposals for adaptation; to analyze the regional scenarios associated with CC; to develop proposals for the reduction and/or capture of greenhouse gas emissions and adaptation to CC; to facilitate the social adaptation of knowledge on this issue; and to develop mechanisms to transfer the knowledge produced, contributing to the development of formal and non-formal education programs.

The objective of the program is the formulation of integrated proposals for industrial development, economic infrastructure - public services - and the necessary technologies.
In order to achieve this objective, it initially carries out studies in three integrated areas of work:
• Macroeconomic and Industrial Policies
• Transversal Tools of Industrial Promotion
• Sectoral and Specific Studies
Programa Interdisciplinario de la Universidad de Buenos Aires sobre Energías Sustentables - Interdisciplinary Program of the University of Buenos Aires on Sustainable Energies
Its objective is to underpin a vision of the future of the energy industry in Argentina, including different sectors of society.
Through PIUBAES, the University of Buenos Aires seeks to discuss and analyse this problem, as well as elaborate rational and interdisciplinary recommendations that can be considered in future development plans or projects in the country.
Some of of PIUBAES objectives are:
To study the present possibilities in the energy industry related to each source of energy of current or potential use, and their possible technological development.
To Estimate the possibilities of future use for each of the current and/or potential sources of energy according to diverse hypotheses of the existence of reserves of non-renewable energies, and the interrelation between them.
To Include the study of demand in the analysis of the energy system, both for the different sources of energy (gas, fuels and electricity) and for the different sectors (transport, industrial, residential, commercial, public, etc.).To evaluate the sensitivity of the use of each source of energy to the changes in the current consumption pattern

The University of Buenos Aires Interdisciplinary Program on Social Marginalization addresses the complexity of the variables acting in the production and reproduction of social marginalization through five thematic fields:

• Social marginalization and the health-disease issue
• Social Exclusion and Territory
• Social Marginalization and the work-production issue
• Social Marginalization and Violence

The issue of transport is an area of ??singular importance. It has a severe economic, social, political, urban, regional, environmental and strategic impact on the country, while its mitigation also affects the productive system on a global scale. On this subject, the University of Buenos Aires has a group of research groups whose approaches or research lines are articulated in the Interdisciplinary Program of the UBA on Transport (PIUBAT for its acronym in Spanish).
