For the third consecutive year, the University of Buenos Aires has consolidated its position within the global elite of universities and as the best university in Latin America.

This year, the 2017 QS Ranking places the University of Buenos Aires in the 75th position, rising 10 positions compared to last year.
In the region, the University of Buenos Aires (75th) is followed by the University of San Pablo (121st), the UNAM (122nd) and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (137th). Among the hundred best, it is the only tuition fee-free Latin American university.

"This recognition is important because of the assessment it makes of the quality of public education in Argentina," Mr. Barbieri explains, for whom this recognition implies a great reinforcement for the public university.

The QS Ranking is among the most watched by the international academic community together with the Ranking of Shanghai, where the University of Buenos Aires is the only Argentine university in the Top 151 and the best ranked within the Spanish-speaking Institutions, consolidating a positive trend of sustained growth.
